Hi! I’m Arielle. I’m a food blogger based in Washington, DC.
Since I never did the “8 things about me” trend…
I live in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC, with Dany, my husband of 2 years. It's just us for now, but we're hoping to start a family soon!
Family is everything to me. Mine is spread all over the country, which is tough at times, but I'm always planning a trip to Charleston to visit my parents, Chicago to visit my sister, New York to visit my brother, sister-in-law, and cousins, or Florida or Philadelphia to visit my grandparents (I am incredibly lucky to have FOUR healthy, incredible grandparents)!
I have a strong Jewish identity, though I'm not religious. To me, Judaism represents culture, connection, and history.
My favorite place in the world is Israel. I lived there for six months after college, interning for the Ministry of Health. Dany is Venezuelan-Israeli, and we got engaged on the beach in Tel Aviv! We're hoping to spend some extended time - maybe 1-3 years - there in the near future.
When I'm not working, eating, or blogging, I'm probably biking. I was an indoor cycling instructor for years, but now I just train by myself. Throughout the pandemic, I've been averaging about 100 miles per week!
I have a Bachelors's from Tulane University, in New Orleans, and a Masters's in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore.
I keep a pescatarian diet but am a plant-based enthusiast. I'm always looking for great vegan and vegetarian restaurants and food products!
I work at a nonprofit called ideas42, which uses behavioral science to address social issues. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. (I'm sure it goes without saying, but I should note that all the opinions expressed on this site are my own, and should never be taken as a representation of my employer.)
